Vitamin D3.
Description
Each 0.5 ml contains 10 micrograms of Colecalciferol which is equivalent to 400 IU Vitamin D3.
The active substance in Osteomed Child & Toddler Vitamin D3 Drops is colecalciferol 10 micrograms (equivalent to 400iu Vitamin D3) per 0.5ml.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Medium-chain triglycerides derived from coconut and palm oil.
Action
Osteomed Child & Toddler Vitamin D3 Drops contain colecalciferol. Colecalciferol is a form of vitamin D used in the prevention of vitamin D deficiency conditions. Deficiency of vitamin D may occur when a diet or lifestyle does not provide enough vitamin D or when the body requires more vitamin D (for instance in childhood).
Indications/Uses
Helps normal bone growth.
Dosage/Direction for Use
For oral administration.
Give the following dose by mouth.
Infants up to 6 months: 0.5ml per day when recommended by a healthcare professional.
Older infants and children to 6 years: 0.5ml per day.
Do not give other Vitamin D supplements at the same time as Osteomed Drops.
Do not give more than the label or what the doctor tells to give.
Forgot to give this food supplement: Give the next dose when remembered provided that in any one day only a single dose is given. Do not give a double dose.
Overdosage
If this food supplement is given more than it should: If the patient accidentally took or was given an overdose of Osteomed Child & Toddler Vitamin D3 Drops it is not normally expected to cause harm but, as a precaution, the patient should consult a pharmacist or doctor. Always take/bring any remaining product, the container and the label, to assist the professional with product identification.
Contraindications
What the patient needs to know before using this food supplement: Do not give this food supplement if the child had a reaction to any of the ingredients shown in Description.
Discuss with the doctor or pharmacist any conditions that the child may be suffering from before giving this food supplement especially if the child has been diagnosed with high blood levels of calcium or vitamin D.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
This food supplement is intended for use in children. Ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this food supplement if the patient is pregnant or might be pregnant, or if breast-feeding. If the patient requires extra vitamin D, do not take it without medical supervision because too much vitamin D may harm the baby.
Side Effects
Osteomed Child & Toddler Vitamin D3 Drops can have side effects although these don't affect everyone and are usually very mild. These can include nausea, loss of appetite, constipation, stomach ache, thirst, weakness, drowsiness, skin rash and itching. If side effects were noticed, associated with the use of Osteomed Child & Toddler Vitamin D3 Drops tell the doctor or pharmacist.
Drug Interactions
Other foods and medicines with Osteomed Child and Toddler Vitamin D3 Drops: Tell the doctor or pharmacist if the patient is taking any other food supplements including herbal medicines and those that may have bought for the patient.
Do not combine with other vitamin D supplements or a diet that is unusually high with vitamin D.

Store below 25°C.
